At Affinity Water, protecting our people, product, and places is vital to keeping water flowing safely to millions of customers. We’re looking for a Security Engineer to join our dedicated Security Team, taking ownership of the systems and infrastructure that safeguard over 450 operational sites across our network.
This is a varied and impactful role where you’ll work directly with security systems, respond to incidents, and partner with both internal teams and external contractors to ensure our sites remain compliant, resilient, and secure.
What you’ll be doing:
Maintaining and troubleshooting security assets including CCTV, security management systems, and alarms – responding quickly to faults and resolving issues
Acting as the technical lead and key liaison between IT, OT, contractors, and site teams
Installing and commissioning CCTV and new security infrastructure at operational sites
Conducting security audits and risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending improvements
Overseeing third-party security maintenance contracts and auditing performance
Managing lifecycle planning for security assets, ensuring replacements and upgrades are scheduled
Delivering training to colleagues and supporting security exercises
Supporting with access control systems, locks, keys, and compliance requirements
Providing technical input to new projects requiring physical security measures
What we’re looking for:
NIS Gold registered, 18th Edition Electrical, or willingness to work towards qualifications
Experience with security systems installation/maintenance (CCTV, access control, alarms, or similar)
Familiarity with IT/OT environments and systems, or enthusiasm to develop in this area
Confident working with systems such as Vanderbilt SPC, Milestone, Pelco, Cortech, Sentinor, and Commend (training provided where needed)
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure
Excellent communicator, able to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Full driving licence and flexibility to travel to operational sites
Why join us?
