Affinity Water is looking for a Sustainable Homes Auditor to help ensure new housing developments meet water efficiency and neutrality standards inline our adoption of Ofwat's Environmental Incentives Common Framework.
You will be hands-on with site inspections, pre-occupancy audits, and compliance checks, ensuring that new homes meet water efficiency and water neutrality standards. You will review technical plans, analyse water usage trends, and produce clear, actionable reports to support developers and internal teams. You’ll also collaborate closely with engineers, developers, and supply chain partners to help improve water-efficient designs and resolve any compliance issues.

The Role
Conduct thorough audits and inspections of new developments to verify compliance with water efficiency standards
Analyse water usage data and identify trends or areas for improvement
Produce clear, evidence-based audit reports with recommendations for developers and internal teams
Work closely with developers, engineers, and internal stakeholders to drive improvements
Own audit outcomes, manage risks, and deal professionally with any challenging compliance situations
Stay up to date with changing regulations and industry standards
About You
Essential:
Experience in audits or inspections (compliance or sustainability preferred)
Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues others might miss
Confident communicating with developers, engineers, and other stakeholders
Problem-solving mindset and able to manage challenging situations on site
Collaborative approach, working well with internal teams and external partners
Able to analyse data, interpret trends, and turn insights into practical recommendations
This is a regional role, so travel across developments will be required, as well as attendance at our Hatfield office
Desirable:
Knowledge of water neutrality, sustainability standards, or environmental incentive schemes
Willingness to learn, grow, and share knowledge with the team

Benefits:
Salary: £33,000 (dependant on skills and experience)
Hours: 08:00 - 16:00pm Mon - Thurs and 08:00am - 15:30pm Friday
