Asset Planning Engineer - Infrastructure

We’re looking for an Asset Planning Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. You will report to the Senior Asset Engineer - Infrastructure.
About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide technical support to Asset Strategy and Capital Delivery. The Asset Planning function drives robust investment planning to ensure projects meet business needs and deliver set out benefits.
You will develop best value and sustainable investments for Infrastructure assets including distribution mains, trunk mains, meters and control valves. Project work will consist of, but not limited to, management of infrastructure risks -working with operational and delivery teams; ownership of project at planning at the concept phase and support through the project lifecycle; develop and support investment project proposals and business case, driven by data and optimising performance, risks and cost.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to the business on network reinforcement needs through the use of hydraulic models.
- Accountable Lead for Risk and Value workshops, where optimum balance of performance, risk and cost will be discussed and challenged to reach a consensus amongst key stakeholders and experts.
- Provide expert advice to the business. Make strategic recommendations to improve water quality and distribution. Provide technical justification for project design, and continual support throughout project lifecycle.
- Makes strategic recommendations from analysis of network performance. Identifying and promoting required infrastructure improvements and production efficiencies
- Identification and delivery of infrastructure improvements and resilience
Requirements
- High level of competency in data capture, managing and analysis
- Advanced MS Office skills, experience using Microsoft Visio
- Good knowledge of water network functionality
- Clean Driving licence · Accuracy of work and ability to follow process
- Data analysis skills. Ability to work with large data sets
- Health and Safety focus
- Qualifications suitable for route to chartership e.g., CIWEM, ICE or IoW (desirable)
