Water Regulations Technician - 12 Month FTC

Affinity Water has a exciting opportunity available to become a Water Regulations Technician in our Water Quality Team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Role:
As a Water Regulations Technician you will contribute to the ongoing improvement of water quality standards through collaboration with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations were introduced in 1999 to prevent misuse, waste, undue consumption or erroneous measurement of water. Most importantly, they are designed to prevent contamination of drinking water supplies.
What you'll be doing:
- Visit consumer premises, carrying out fittings inspections to ensure installed plumbing systems are compliant.
- Proactive engagement within the plumbing community to promote the fittings regulations and good practice.
- Identifying risks to water quality and identifying any issues relating to the waste, undue consumption or misuse of our water.
This role will require you to travel to sites across primarily the Misbourne, Lee, and Colne supply areas. However, you will be asked, where required, to travel to other areas within our supply on occasion.
What you'll need:
- Knowledge and understanding of the current Water Fittings & Water Quality Regulations.
- A NVQ Level 2 and above in a Plumbing Qualification.
- Experience of working in the Water Industry.
- Demonstrate excellent technical skills with the ability to diagnose and find faults quickly.
- Knowledge on the Control of Legionella Bacteria in Hot & Cold-Water Services.
- Confident in all Microsoft Office Packages.
- UK Driving Licence.
