Leakage control technician

This is a varied and challenging role within Asset Strategy, detecting leakage and unaccounted-for water in our network whilst providing an excellent experience to Affinity Water customers.
Successful candidates will ensure that work is carried out safely and in compliance with company procedures and will take ownership within assigned District Metered Area’s (DMA’s) to deliver set leakage targets.
This is a field based role within the Affinity Water Central region supply area.
Notionally based from our Rickmansworth depot.
Requirements
- Experienced in the use of leakage equipment and tools
- Experienced in the use of all leakage methodologies and techniques
- Experienced in the use of all leakage systems such as Waternet and GIS
- Knowledge of safe working practices
- Confident in report writing and record keeping
- An awareness of environmental impact and issues
- Good stakeholder management skills with ability to liaise at multiple levels with both internal and external stakeholders
- This role involves a fair amount of physical activity including a lot of walking, bending and some lifting of heavy objects.
- Manual handling training will be provided but a degree of physical fitness is needed.
- Keen hearing is also an essential to be able to identify noises that could indicate a leak
- Must hold a full driving licence
