Network Control Technician

Affinity Water has a fantastic opportunity to join our Control Operations Team as a Network Control Technician.
The Role:
The Network Control Technician will play a key role in Control Operations and is required to assist the Duty Network Manager to manage company operations on a 24/7 basis without senior management involvement; except in emergencies.
You will be a customer focused, logical thinking problem solver, who is used to a fast-paced working environment where prioritising your workload is key.
What you'll be doing:
- Using all available information to provide continual technical support to operational teams before and during incidents on the water network.
- Ensuring that the quality of service provided to customers meets Company and Regulatory standards.
- You will be minimising customer water supply interruptions via identification of abnormal performance and diagnosis of incidents and to ensure appropriate escalation.
- Investigate issues, assessing risk, factually record actions, agreeing outcomes, taking action & recording decision making and issues on appropriate Company systems.
- Commit to participate in training and qualified development to become fully affective in the Control Operations environment.
- Providing recommendations and evidence to assist with the rapid resolution of water network incidents.
- Maintain historical contingencies and mitigations in support.
What you need:
- Working knowledge of or the ability to learn hydraulics, valve operation, pressure, flow and leakage monitoring/control.
- Able to forecast and predict outcomes, Can make strategic recommendations utilising data available from the network.
- Experience in the use of relevant systems e.g. Serck/SCADA, GIS, Waternet, CORTECH, Hi-affinity, MAXIMO, Puzzel, CTrack, SharePoint, MS Office and other business systems.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle as there is a requirement to be able to co-locate to our alternative Operations Centre in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire should the business require it.

- Shift Work Pattern: 24/7/365 shift work. 12 hour shifts, 6am - 6pm & 6pm - 6am
